Ski Pole Weight vs Strength Comparison Tool

A clean, engineering-style estimator to compare weight, bending strength, and stiffness across poles. Built for quick, practical decisions (not marketing).

Add poles to compare

Tip: If you don’t know tube dimensions, use the defaults. The tool will still give a useful relative comparison.
Assumptions & what the numbers mean

This is a simplified tube model. It estimates:

  • Bending capacity index ∝ (yield strength × section modulus)
  • Stiffness index ∝ (elastic modulus × second moment of area)
  • Efficiency = bending capacity index ÷ weight

Real-world outcomes also depend on joint design, grip/strap, lower reinforcement, impact angles, and damage history. Use this to compare architecture, not to claim absolute durability.

Results

Normalized to your compared set (0–100).

Add 2–3 poles and click Compare.
Weight vs Strength (scatter)
Lighter is left. Stronger is higher.
